During this time of year, I am realizing that life is short to the point we need to spend every second we can get with our family. We shouldn’t take our family members for granted because they won’t be here forever, you know? That is why we should always make the most out of it.
There are people out there who barely see their family, especially during this time of year.
There are people out there who have these “imaginary feuds” with their family and they hardly ever want to spend time with each other.
People may even have toxic family members, which they try to avoid them as much as possible. By doing this, it will break a family into pieces.
However, other people may not have any family at all to spend Christmas with because you know, your family won’t be here forever.
It is sad.
I remember when I was a child, I was afraid of everyone dying. I remember thinking, “What if it is just me in the end all alone?” I had this idea in my head that one day I wouldn’t have any of my family or cousins on this Earth with me. I would be all alone. Has anyone has had that fear before? It is insane to think about, am I right?

I can’t stress it enough about how important spending time with those you love during Christmas! 1 John 3:18 says, “Let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth.” Who remembers the phrase, actions speak louder than words because it is true!
Spending time with your loved ones does not mean to be constantly on your phone the entire time, while someone is trying to talk to you! Honestly, when I go to family functions I always try to put my phone somewhere so I am not constantly reaching for it, even though there are people who are still on their phones while they are around people.
It is always nice to just put your phone down once in a while and focus on the time you have with your family because you will never get that time back. That is why I have been saying life is short! We never know when it will be our last Christmas or the last New Year that we will get to spend it with the ones we love.
I challenge you to make time for those you love during Christmas and New Years. Take all of it in and remember that it is ok to put your phone down. Capture the moment and you shouldn’t ever take a single day for granted because another day is never promised. Live it while you can!

When you find the time, please listen to “The Heart of Christmas” by Matthew West.
“Wherever you are, no matter how far. Come back to the heart, the heart of Christmas. Live while you can, cherish the moment. The ones that you love, make sure they know it. Don’t miss it, the heart of Christmas.”

In case you have missed it, I talked about how people around the world are grieving during this time of year and they truly need peace in their hearts. You can read more about it here!

I hope everyone has a Blessed Merry Christmas with their loved ones! With that being said, I won’t be posting on Christmas Day because I will be taking time to cherish the moments with my family, so Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

Another great post, Kylie! I absolutely agree. Family should understand each other’s worth! But we let petty differences tear each other apart…
