finding your voice

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt that you need to just keep your mouth shut? You tell yourself that your opinion doesn’t matter, anyways. You end up being silent, especially when it comes to standing up for yourself. Am I right?

If this is you, I want to tell you to not stay silent. Believe it or not, your voice matters. You have a say in this world and God didn’t create you to keep your mouth shut! He created us all with a mouth and a voice so we can make a difference in this world and lift people up with our words. Our words do matter, too. They can either hurt or inspire people. Choose your words wisely.

I want to talk to y’all about finding your voice. There is so much going on in the United States. Social Media is like a huge argument. I see people all of the time saying, “If you don’t support this, then delete me.” Then, there are people who choose to stay silent because they feel like it will just make the situation worse. That’s not true; we need people to voice their own opinion, stand up for what they think is right and for God. Honestly, this world needs God more than ever and it is up to us to tell people about how good He is. We truly need to spread kindness everywhere we go instead of filling the world with hate.

I am slowly trying to find my voice. Being active on this blog has helped me so much with that and it’s amazing how much my words inspire people from all around the world.

I used to be the girl who would hardly ever talk in school. When I did have the courage to talk; people would say, “Oh, she can talk!” I would get that everytime. I stayed silent throughout my Elementary years and once I was in High School, I started standing up for myself and for those who were afraid to. I didn’t care what anyone thought about me.

Fast forward to a few years ago, it has been difficult to openly say things for how they truly are and voice my opinion. I feel the need to keep my mouth shut and just let things go because it is what it is. Right? I feel like my words can’t ever change the situation. Ha, the present Kylie is laughing at the past Kylie, right now!

Honestly, there were times where I do regret not standing up for myself and I chose to stay silent instead. I should have said at least something, but I didn’t. Finding my voice is what I’m working on in 2019. I refuse to stay silent this time. I don’t know about you, 2019 has honestly been the most freeing year ever to me and it feels so good to start fresh. Everything that happened in 2018 is now in the past! Doesn’t a fresh start sound good to you, too?

Proverbs 31:8-9 says, “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

We need to start standing up for what’s right.

For those who can’t even stand up for themselves. They think they won’t be heard, so they choose to not speak at all.

It’s okay to stand alone.

You were not created to have Duct tape covering you mouth.

God created you so you can have a voice. He wants us to keep on speaking.

Our voice has the ability to change the world, if we let it.

Even when no one is listening to you, keep on speaking!

Don’t be afraid. Our words are able to change an individual for the better.

Your voice matters.

If we all spread compassion and kindness all over the world with our voices, we will be changing the world for the better. Trust me, this world needs to hear our voices.

Now is the time to use your voice! It doesn’t matter what others may think about you, you need to be heard.

It starts with us. Let’s be fearless together!

When you find the time, I encourage you to listen to “Starts With Me” by TobyMac ft. Aaron Cole!

“‘Cause we can be free, yeah I know that. Let’s try to fix the things that’s been broke down. ‘Cause we can be free, yeah I know that and it starts with me.”

I hope everyone has a blessed weekend, I’ll be back with a new post next Wednesday! If you are a new Kylie’s Corner & More Subscriber, I upload a new blog post every Wednesday and Friday at 3:00 PM CST so stay tuned for more!

  1. I heard it said once, the Lord told us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves, but He didn’t make us doormats.
