I was challenged by my new follower, Matthew from the Normal Happenings Blog to write about a time where I was called an overachiever. Well, I actually don’t remember the last time I was called that, but I am going to talk to y’all about the reasons why I am the way I am – an overacheiver!

Honestly, I haven’t been an overachiever all throughout my life, especially in Elementary. It all started when I got into Middle School, all through High school, and now into College. Let’s say I’m not your typical college student who waits literally until 11:58 PM to submit their assignment that is due at 11:59 PM, nor the one who stays up late studying the day before a test. That for real stresses me out just by thinking about it! I’m more of the student who completes assignments way before they are due so I’m constantly ahead of my classes! I am like this because it truly decreases the amount of stress I have and trust me, this semester has been the busiest I have ever been through out my entire college career. I love knowing that I have everything that I need to get done, done and getting those things done ahead of time truly helps calm me. However, there have been times where I felt overwhelmed by getting things done ahead of time. Shocker, I know! It overwhelms me at times because I tend to look at the bigger picture. For instance, I was looking ahead of the course schedule for my classses and seeing what all I need to be finishing soon or start working on, it stressed me out because there are so many things that are due this month!! I tell myself to take one day at a time and do as much as I can each day while not trying to stress myself out. That is the thing with staying ahead of every little thing, but I can’t ever see myself being a procrastinator who waits until the last minute. Spreaking of procrastinating… I have written a blog post about how you can stop procrastinating, I still implement those tips in my daily life.

I don’t know if y’all have noticed, but I also stay on top of writing blog post for the Kylie’s Corner and More blog by working on them almost two weeks in advance. Which means that I’m sitting down right now writing this blog post on March 29, 2019 and it won’t be posted until April 10! I have been keeping this up since January and I am proud of myself for staying ahead for this long. I do this because of my classes and I used to work on blog posts as each week passes by, but I have found that this way is much better for me. I also like only posting twice a week because I make sure to provide “out of this world” content for y’all instead of just posting just because. I put my all into each blog post I write for my Kylie’s Corner & More subscribers. I really do appreciate all of you!

That’s the thing with being an “overachiever,” we constantly give our all into every single thing that we do because it means something to us. It shouldn’t define who we are, we enjoy working hard and getting things done ahead of time! Who doesn’t love that? Hm, probably the procrastinators! If you are an overachiever, you shouldn’t be ashamed of it or have to explain yourself to anyone. You are the way you are for a reason. Being an overachiever is so overrated!

“I don’t dwell on whether I am an overachiever. After my career is over, I will sit down and evaluate what I have done. Until then, all I can do is go out every day and do the best I can.”

      1. Not trying to be deep or weird.. but I’m far from an overachiever.. lol.. I don’t think people would think of me the same if they knew half about me. John’s no perfect guy 😕
