Let me just put this out there before I tell y’all this story – God does have a sense of humor!

So this entire thing happened on April 1st. As I was driving back home from class, my front left tire got too close to the curb and it caused me to have a flat tire! I ended up turning into the closest street so I would be out of the way. I motioned for a car to stop to see if they were able to help me or at least stay with me until I found someone to either change my tire or air it up for me. There was this sweetest lady who realized I was freaking out and she told me she would stay with me until someone would help me! So, I was on the phone with the campus police and they couldn’t do anything about it since I was farther out from the college even though I was kinda still close to it and mind you, it’s about an hour drive from home!

The lady who stayed with me, she told me that maybe there would be some guy who would stop and help me. I’m not even joking about this, as soon as she said that, there was this most kindest man who realized we needed help and he stopped!! I told him how I needed someone to change my tire because I had a flat tire and I remembered that I had a spare tire in my trunk. He said, “Ok, I’ll help you.” and get this, he is even a policeman but he was off duty!

Y’all will never know how thankful I was during that moment like he was honestly an Angel in disguise.

I knew that I couldn’t just call my PawPaw and ask him if he can come get me because like I said, I was an hour away from where I live. I even felt scared because the thought of being stranded someone makes me feel sick to my stomach! Plus, I really don’t know how to change or air up a tire so do you see my dilemma??

I didn’t even ask for his name and I wish I would have, but I was so focus on getting my tire change so I can get back on the road. I also wanted to give him a copy of my book, Kylie’s Corner for helping me and I couldn’t do that because I didn’t have any with me in my car!

All of this happened on April Fools Day and see, I told you that God does have a sense of humor!

I would have told this story on The Life of Kylie instead of on here, but I wanted everyone to read this story including the people at my church because I always do a shorter version of the Kylie’s Corner blog posts for the church bulletin.

What I learned from this lesson:

  1. Don’t ever get close to the curb when driving – because of this, I’m more aware of not getting so close and I’m constantly looking out of the right and left side mirrors!
  2. Make sure to always check your spare tire when you air up the rest of your tires – The kind man told me this when he helped me air up my spare tire since it didn’t have enough air in it and he wanted me to get home safely!
  3. There are still kind people who are disguised as Angels in this world, you just need to look harder for them.
  4. God will always protect you no matter what and you need to stay calm.

I’m honestly proud of myself for being independent and trusting God through everything, even though it was kinda scary. Y’all, I have so many stories about driving; it’s insane! I truly believe this happened to me because for some reason God wants me to become even more stronger, especially when it comes to driving because He knows I despise it. I’m working on it though! He also showed me that there are still kind people in the world and I’m forever grateful that He made me realize that.

Anyways, I hope this story inspires you and gives you hope that there are still generous people out there. You can also become one of those kind people who are disguised as Angels, the world needs more people who are kind.

Remember, God’s got this; He is the one in control and He wants you to be calm. Don’t worry about a thing! I still need to remind myself this when I’m stuck in situations like these.

      1. It’s one thing to have hope in humanity. My hope is not in humanity.. but as long as the Lord is here, there will be humans with a heart!
