Hey my Sweet friends, I hope y’all have been having a blessed week! Today, I want to talk to y’all about something I experienced last week – I was thinking about only putting it on social media, but since God has given me this platform, I felt the need to discuss this topic on here. It’s another storytime!
On this day, I was on my way to class in the morning and I was a little bit nervous because I had to give a presentation for one of my classes. Well, technically we had to video ourselves while teaching a lesson we created and we had to do this in front of a group of people in a small classroom! You can see why I was nervous, but on my way to class, something caught my eye and it made me feel calm. I was behind a car and on the back of their windshield were the words, “JESUS SAVES!” It was written so huge and I honestly needed to see that on my way to class! That phrase is what helped me to get through that day and I would repeat it to myself by saying: remember, Jesus Saves! You will get through this and I did.
Now, on my way home from class, it was a different story and this is the actual reason why I’m writing about this day. So there were two lanes where you can be in – the left lane and right. I was in the left lane while I was keeping an eye on the car that was right beside my car in the right lane. All of a sudden, the car moved into my lane without warning me (no blinker whatsoever!). If it wasn’t for me keeping an eye on my surroundings, the car was so close into hitting my front right bumper or I would have hit the back of their car. My first thought was that maybe I should honk at them, but I didn’t because I felt like it would have made things worse because I could have scared them. Anyways, the car ended going back to the original lane they were in and as I was passing them, I looked to see what they were even doing and guess what I saw?? They had their phone in their left hand while their other hand was on the wheel! I was honestly so furious when I realized that they were texting while driving when they moved into my lane! I bet you that they didn’t even look up to see if anyone was behind them when they switched lanes! Thank God they were turning soon, but that driver still had their phone in their hand when they were turning. After that was over, I was like “Yep, Jesus Saves!”
I really don’t understand how people can text while driving at the same time, it blows my mind! It makes me so mad when I see people do that behind the wheel, especially after I have experienced my first car accident and I pray it will always be my last.

This blog post is basically a PSA about texting and driving. I love all of my Kylie’s Corner & More subscribers and if one of you do text and drive, this is a wakeup call for you. It can wait. You only have one life to live and don’t let one simple thing take your life or someone else’s life for that matter. It honestly hurts when I see someone on their phones while driving because it shows that they don’t care about anyone around them. Our actions do affect those around us and please, please think about that next time before you pick up your phone when you’re driving. Your life does matter and your phone can wait. I wish that texting and driving wasn’t a thing, but sadly it is. So many people in the world are killed by people who text and drive; I wish that wasn’t the case. I mean, what is it going to take for people to put their phones down while driving??
I wish I could prevent this issue, but I can’t be the only one. Together, we can be the change. I hope I brought some light into someone who does text and drive – maybe they will think about putting their phone down and concentrate more on the road and everyone around them when driving. If this post helps just one person to stop texting and driving, we will be saving lives one at a time.
I’m going to leave y’all with this powerful commercial I watched when I was in my first year of college and I remember my professor had the entire class watch it. I encourage all of you to take the time to watch this short video.

Your notifications on your phone can wait when you’re behind the wheel and the only thing that matters the most is your life. You only get one chance at life, so make sure to make the right choices. You matter.

I confess, I do it every now and then. But I encourage people to call me if they really need to talk.

That text message can wait and your life is too precious to be doing that, John! That’s a good thing you tell people that☺️
