I know, this is such a sensitive topic to talk about, but this needs to be said because there are people out there who need to hear these words that I’m about to write. I wasn’t at all expecting to write about suicide (I really don’t like using that word) this week; however, God put these words in my heart for a reason and that’s why I’m doing another open letter. Even if you are not thinking about taking your own life, I still encourage you to read it because you may need it, too – you never know.

For anyone who needs it:

My Sweet friend, I know you’re hurting on the inside

And no one truly knows how you actually feel

You may feel all alone

You tell people that you’re okay

You may think that everyone is better off without you and that no one would care if you weren’t here anymore

My Sweet friend, that isn’t true

So many people in your life care about you and those people need you more than you will ever know

Your friends and family love you

You may be tired of all of the pain and you just want everything to end

You don’t want to hurt anymore

You may hide your pain by making everyone laugh, but on the inside you feel like dying

My Sweet friend, I don’t know what you’re going through

And I wish I could take all of your pain away

My Sweet friend, please don’t harm yourself

Your life is so precious and I know that everything will get better for you

My Sweet friend, there will be a rainbow right after the storm

Please keep on fighting your battles and don’t stop

There is a purpose for your pain

And God has a purpose for your life – You are meant to change the world

My Sweet friend, God will give you that rainbow and you do deserve it

He may even put someone in your life who will change your life forever and make you feel like that person is worth living for

My Sweet friend, God is about to change your life around – just watch!

There is this Bible Verse that says:

I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord. -Isaiah 66:9

God is about to bless your life so much, please don’t give up.

My Sweet friend, you are enough

You are worthy

You are enough

You are loved

You are amazing

in God’s eyes.

My Sweet friend, you’re not alone in this fight.

We are all broken on the inside

And we all need each other.

My Sweet friend, I am praying for you to persevere

We will get through this together

You’re a fighter

My Sweet friend, no one fights alone.

God loves you so much

Please listen to “Let The Light In” by Francesca Battistelli. I first heard this song when I was working out and I found it to be so fitting for this open letter.

“This is a song to remind me we’ve all got some broken we’re hiding. None of us are ok. We all fall, we all break. This is a song to remind me to let the light in.”

There is a reason behind this open letter… A week ago, my mom informed me about how one of my classmates from High School took his life. I was shocked when my mom told me that and I still can’t believe it. I wasn’t as close to this person, but he was in my class starting at Kindergarten through Senior year of High School. He was known to be funny – he would make everyone laugh, including me. It blows my mind that the people who hurt the most are the ones who makes others laugh, even though they are hurting on the inside.

I remember having a specific class with him during our last year of High School called, “Office Aide.” I don’t know if this is a small school thing or what, but it’s where we would run errands for anyone in the office like the Principal, Secretary, etc. Those errands included putting mail in each of the teacher’s mailboxes. I truly wish I could go back in time with knowing what I know now and tell him everything in this open letter. Maybe it would have helped, who knows? I honestly had no idea he felt so hurt on the inside because it seemed like he wouldn’t let anything get to him. I do believe that he is in Heaven now.

Life isn’t some type of game, we only have one chance at it. We truly need to live it to the fullest because God only knows how much time we all have left.

To whoever is reading this, I want you to walk away from this blog post with knowing that your life is so precious and God loves you so much. He has a purpose for your pain. No one fights alone.

    1. It was a tough one to write! That’s so true! He’s in better hands now and I pray that too, that was actually what I hoped for while I was writing this. I pray that people who are thinking those thoughts will re-evaluate them after they have read this letter. Amen! Blessings to you too, Tammy and thank you, keep working for Christ too!☺️💗
