Time and time again, God strengthens us by pulling us out of our so-called comfort zones! I know, it’s not easy at all and I hope at the end of this blog post, you won’t be afraid of facing your fears.
Recently, God has been showing me how strong I really am. Last week, I took some tests for school and along with that, I had to drive a route that I wasn’t familiar with. If y’all don’t know, I get testing anxiety and even horrible anxiety when I drive. To be honest, before I drive anywhere new, I have to find the safest route for me and THEN, memorize the route by going on Google Map and visually see where I need to go, the landmarks I’ll be turning at, etc. When I have to drive somewhere new, I would normally take someone with me just so I can do a “test-drive” and make sure I know where to go before the day comes where I have to drive it by myself.
Some of you may be like, “Why do you have take the safest route? Why do you have to take the longest route, you know there is a shorter way to get there? Why do you have to memorize the route and even practice the route using your computer??”
Anxiety, my Sweet friends.
Anxiety does that to you.
Some people just don’t understand and that’s okay.
Anxiety can take over your life, if you let it.
You know how I said that I would normally take someone with me to do a test-drive when it comes to driving a new route? Well, last week, for some reason I wanted to beat my anxiety. I wanted to be stronger than it. I wanted to overcome my fears.
I ended up driving the route by myself on the first day and I knew exactly where to go without relying on my phone to get me there.
That right there was a huge deal for me! I honestly couldn’t have done it without God because like always, He watches out for me.
I’m telling all of you this story of me having horrible anxiety about driving somewhere new because on that day, I faced my fears.
I learned that no matter what happens, God will always be with me.

We all have fears that we are afraid to face, but do you know what?
Facing your fears makes you stronger.
When you face your fears, you start to bloom into a beautiful flower.
Your faith in God gets stronger.
You will be proud of yourself for facing your fears.
You will feel accomplished.
Facing your fears doesn’t have to be scary, it just means that God wants you to be brave. He knows that you are capable of doing whatever He is wanting you to do.
What you can do to calm you down is pray and I did a lot of it when I had to drive that route for the first time last week.
Be brave.
Be courageous.
Be fearless.
God always has a reason for why he wants us to step out of our comfort zones, trust God with your whole heart. Everything will be ok, I promise.

When you find the time, please listen to “Fear No More” by Building 429
“This isn’t what I’d choose, but it’s where I’m finding You. When I’m broken and undone, Your mercy’s just begun. You overcome my doubt. Your hands are reaching out. You hold me through the storm and I will fear no more.”

“Fear is not real. It is the product of thoughts you create. Danger is very real, but fear is a choice.”

This spoke to me. I have mild anxiety but had a traumatic airplane trip, got severe vertigo and was taken to a hospital upon landing. I spent the next 2 years researching and talking to my therapist in preparation of facing my fear. Being informed, realizing that fear was only a feeling and praying, “Lord, help me trust you in all things” got me on an airplane again to spend Thanksgiving with my son.

Wow, thank you for sharing your story with me! I haven’t ever flown on a airplane so I can’t imagine what that’s like and God always has a reason for why we go through difficult times. I’m so happy that you faced your fears and by doing that, you also got to see your son! I pray God continues to bless you✨💗

I can really relate to this. I am really bad at routes and sense of direction so I always battle a little more anxiety then usual going somewhere knew. With kids on tow I am the type of mum that packed every “just in case” item you could think of which only made me more anxious if i for got a not so essential ‘essential’. It was the fear factor of not being prepared for any situation and I had to take a step back, place my faith in God, hand over control and remind myself that my expectations of myself were not realistic and in some ways unfair. I can’t be afraid of mistakes, things going wrong or even getting lost as long as I find my way again. x Thank you for this healing post xxx

Aw, that’s the reason why I love to write because I know that people like you need encouragement and to know that they aren’t alone! I’m the same way when it comes to directions! Sometimes, things happen that are out of our control and God always has a plan for us even though we may feel like we’re unprepared for whatever it is. I have been learning that mistakes helps us grow and it’s ok to make a mistake because we end up learning from – I’m still learning this! Thank you so much for reading this post and I’m thankful it inspired you✨💗
