I haven’t done one of these open letters in awhile and I know that you guys love reading them because I still get views on the past open letters I have written!
I decided to write about being afraid of change since college will be starting soon, and the high schoolers who recently graduaded will be starting their first year of college this semester – it will definitely be a new transition for them, especially if they are living in a dorm their first year.
At one point in our lives, we have all feared change and wished that we could just stay in our “comfort zone.” I imagine God laughing at us and saying, “My Child, this is what you have been praying for! Why are you afraid of something new happening in your life? I am giving you a fresh start and this was what your heart desired. Why are you wanting to back out now?”
I believe God does try to tell us that when we’re afraid to move out of comfort zone. Honestly, you don’t ever grow there. Want to know why? You’ll find out in this Open Letter below!

To the one who has so much anxiety about something HUGE happening in their life
To the one who would rather stay in their comfort zone instead of wanting to find out what all God has planned for them
To the one who has closed the ending of a chapter in their life and starting a new one
To the one who is moving out of their parents’ house and living on their own
To the one who is first starting college and doesn’t know what they should feel about it
To the ones who ever feared change and didn’t want anything to do with it, and still don’t
This open letter is for you; it’s actually for everyone.
We all go through different seasons in our lives and each season is a new change to evolve, and become the person God has intended us to be
I don’t think change is a horrible thing
The way I see it, these changes in our lives helps us grow, plus we also learn something new about ourselves
Change is like a new start in your life; it’s a new beginning!
From looking back in my life, I have realized that we weren’t created to stay in one place forever
I know, you would rather stay in the place that you feel comfortable in than going where God is wanting you to go
It can be scary, but do you know what?
God always has a reason for why He wants to bring you out of your “comfort zone”
He wants us to fully trust Him with our life and not be afraid where He is taking us to next
Proverbs 3:5-6 says: With all your heart, you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment. Always let Him lead you, and He will clear the road for you to follow.
When we trust God with everything that we have and with our future, our faith in Him gets stronger
If you’re about to start a new beginning in your life, I want to tell you that everything will all work out and you should try to embrace this new change in your life
My Sweet Friend, everything is going to be okay and I am so excited for you because God has so much in store for you!
When God wants you to do something that makes you so uncomfortable on the inside, it just means that He wants you to grow and He has a reason for why He is wanting you to “step out” of your comfort zone
You’re not alone because we have all been there before and we all go through different stages in our lives. However, we go through these stages at different times and not in order
Believe it or not, I used to be that person who just wanted to stay in their comfort zone and it would give me so much anxiety when God would want me to do something that makes me feel uncomfortable like, when I have to do a presentation for one of my college classes ( I always get so much anxiety when it comes to those).
Now, I’m actually looking forward to everything God has planned for me and I lean on Him more than ever when He puts me in uncomfortable situations like that because I know He wants me to grow and put all my faith in Him.
We’re like a flower that is starting to bloom when we’re put in those situations where God brings us out of our comfort zone.
The comfort zone does NOT grow anything compared to when we are in those situations that makes us feel uncomfortable.
When we step out of our comfort zone, we blossom into the person God has created us to be and for that, it is beautiful.
It’s such a beautiful thing and I pray you start to see it that way.
Let’s start to embrace change together, it won’t be easy, but it is going to be so worth it!
My Sweet Friend, don’t worry because God’s got this and He knows what He is doing; trust the process.

When you find the time, please listen to the song, “The Change In Me” by Casting Crowns.
“Your spirit is the light ahead, calling me into the depths and daring me to take a step. And let You lead the way. You’re the life in me. You’re the air I breathe. You’re the change in me.”

“Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Get confident being uncertain. Don’t give up just because something is hard. Pushing through challenges is what makes you grow.”
