Since College is back in full swing, the past two weeks of it has already been so busy, but that just means I’m closer to being finished (I have three more semesters to go after this one, the countdown is on!). If you are a College student – I can relate to you because you know exactly how it is with each semester and you’re just trying to at least feel like you have your life together. The semester can also get overwhelming at times, especially with all of the assignments hitting you left and right. I have found myself thinking like, why does it seem like I can’t just truly enjoy the months from October through December and of course, January (my Birthday)!

Those months are literally my most favorite time of the year and when you’re in College, it can be difficult to just sit back and relax while enjoying the Fall/Winter months, especially once we hit Thanksgiving – Final exams are creeping around the corner and that’s when things start to get crazy, but everything slowly slows down… at the end!

I have discovered a few tips that have been helping me to stay motivated and this can help anyone – it’s not just for College students! I even added a tip that will inspire you to get into the “Fall spirit” soon, even if you have a busy schedule and can’t really find the time to enjoy these upcoming months.

Let’s get into these tips on how to be motivated!

5 Ways to be motivated.png

Own a Planner

This one is a must! I haven’t always been a planner person – shocker, I know because those of you who read my blog know that I love being organized! However, in the past semesters, I have found printables online that has the full calendar for the year and I would print those out, put them in a binder, and then write in what I need to do on that exact day. Now, this semester, I wanted to do something different that will help keep me motivated.

During this past summer, I found the cutest planner on Amazon and I just had to purchase it – it was a must, let me tell you! It’s an academic planner, which means that the planner only goes from August 2019 to July 2020.

Here’s my planner along with the felt-tip pens!

When I discovered this planner on Amazon, I remember seeing that there was a huge version of it, but I wanted the smaller one to keep on my desk in my room. I think it is so cute and I also write my to-do lists in it, blog post ideas, and just so much more! By purchasing an actual planner, it has definitely helped me to stay focused and the title of the planner for real describes how 2019 is going for me!

I linked the planner I use and the felt-tip pens above and no, it’s not an affiliate link – I wanted to share what has helped me stay motivated and these two products are it. I also linked it because I know some of you might want to know what I use, so there you go!

Here’s the second tip!

Read, Read, Read!!

Yes, read! I have started doing this and I try to read something before I go to sleep every night. Recently, I have discovered something cool, well, I think it is cool, so last semester, I went to checkout a book from my public library for a class. To be honest, I had the same library card back from when I was in Elementary and turns out, I wasn’t even in the system because I haven’t been to the community library in years! I ended up getting a new library card and I believe everyone needs to have one – I will tell you the reason why!

I don’t know if every public library has this, but the library I go to provides services where you can watch movies online, read EBOOKS, and so much more! Everything is free with your library card and there is also an app that lets you checkout Ebooks on your phone for two weeks – it’s called, CloudLibrary. All you do is choose the library you go to, put in your pin number that is on the back of your library card, and the password that the librarian gives you when you first get your library card.

I was so excited when I discovered CloudLibrary and no, this isn’t a sponsored post by them. As of right now, I have been reading: Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis. I haven’t read all of it, but so far it is so motivational!

I just wanted to share this with y’all because I had no clue that we could literally read Ebooks on our phones for FREE and to be honest, I haven’t been a big reader where I am able to read just because, especially since of living the College life!

I encourage you to read something that will uplift you because reading will truly help motivate you.

3rd tip…

Use Positive Affirmations

When you have a positive mind, you have a positive life! I have recently started putting positive vibes in the universe, which means…

I tell myself things like:

I am going to do…

This will happen…

I will pass my certification exams.

I can’t wait to see where God is going to take me to next when I graduate College.

When you tell yourself those things, your mind will eventually believe it and they have potential to come true. Believe whatever you’re wanting to do. Believe in your dreams. If you haven’t been dreaming, then start to dream. We all need to make goals for ourself and believe in ourselves. Remember: God knows what He is doing and He will make a way when you think there is no way. Nothing is impossible!

Since this month’s challenge is about thinking a positive thought every single day for September, if you haven’t already, you should follow the @kyliescornerandmore Instagram because I have started to post a different quote that I say to myself each day and post them on my stories. I come up with my own positive quotes and each day, the quote is different, so I encourage you to follow the Kylie’s Corner Instagram if you have an Instagram account!

Now, for the fourth tip…

Make a Yummy Smoothie

Yes to this one! This smoothie I’m about to tell you is such the best Fall smoothie! Ever since I heard about it, I wanted to make it and now, I love making it all the time!

So, the picture below is called, the Apple Pie Smoothie

Harley Pasternak’s Apple Pie Smoothie

In a blender, combine:
5 raw almonds
1 red apple
1 small frozen banana
6 oz. fat-free plain Greek yogurt
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

**Got the recipe from this website**

It’s so delicious and I also add nutmeg to the smoothie, which that is optional – the granola is also optional, I like adding it on top of mine to give it a crunch!

Every time I make the Apple Pie Smoothie, it reminds me of Fall and makes me so happy, especially because my favorite time of the year is coming up soon!

If you like the real thing of Apple Pie, then I encourage you to try this smoothie!

Here’s tip number FIVE!

Jam out to Music While Talking to God

This is the most important tip that I’m going to give you and this is is something I do every day. Whether I’m walking outside, doing homework, driving an hour to school and back, it never fails that I’m listening to Christian music! You can read my favorite Pandora stations here if you are looking for different stations to listen to on Pandora.

Honestly, listening to Christian music makes everything better for me. I tend to listen to the meaning of the song and then, relate it to something going on in my life. Christian music has definitely brought me closer to God. I used to also complain about the hour drive to and from campus because if you didn’t know already, I don’t really like driving, but I have gotten so much stronger and I’m just so proud of how far I have come. Instead of complaining, I talk to God instead while I’m driving because I know He will keep me safe and get me home. By doing this, it motivates me every single day.

From these five tips, I hope you find something that will help motivate you! Which one do you want to try in your life??

It will be September 11 when I’m posting this and my heart goes out to all of the families whose loved ones were trapped in the twin towers in New York City, and on the plane. America will never forget.
