Have you ever felt like starting everything over and start fresh again?

As if you want to be cleansed of everything that had happened in your life?

Do you ever feel like things keep on getting worse and worse; it’s all out of your control?

Do you ever want to be free from everything like, your pain, struggles, the pressure people put on you, fear, worries, and other things that no one even knows about?

Sometimes, we do need to start over.

We need to destroy every little thing that has taken a wrong turn in our lives and forget about it.

We need to stop looking back in the past.

Start brand new.

Starting over reminds me of a song called, “Burn the Ships” by for KING & COUNTRY. The song talks about fear and when everything goes wrong in our lives, we need to “burn the ship” and not look back.

Can I be completely honest with y’all?

There have been times where I wish I could start my life over and have a brand new life.

There wouldn’t be any pressure of being a certain way or having to explain why I do things a certain way.

There are times where I even wish that I didn’t have such a horrible past. Yes, I don’t regret anything that happened and my past has made me who I am today. However, there are some negative things that I carry with me that are the reason why I act a certain way. If I trust you and feel comfortable with talking to you, I will not stop talking. Then, there are times where I can’t let my guard down because I’m afraid of being hurt again.

I know that I’m not alone and there is always a reason behind our actions; it might even be because of our past.

We need to accept what happened in the past, realize that it made us grow into who we are today, burn the things from your past that have hurt you (not literally), and don’t look back.

Did y’all know that we’re going into a brand new decade pretty soon??

This new decade is for my generation because hopefully, this will be the decade where we will have our lives together, we’ll be out of college, have our dream career, starting families, and creating a brand new life our dreams.

I pray that this new decade will be better and I am just now realizing that it will be closing the chapters of my childhood, along with situations that have made me who am I today (let’s just say that).

2020 will be a fresh start and in 2020, I will stop looking back on my past. I have realized that there are some things that happened in my past that I’m still not over yet, and affect me deeply.

Who cares about what other people think about the choices you have made in your life, it’s yours to live and you do have control with what your life is like – if you don’t like it, do something about it. Take action and don’t look back.

It’s time to start over and create the life you have always wanted – of course, it is God’s job to do that and we shouldn’t complain about the things in our life – good or bad, they are all blessings from God.

If you’re still reading this and want to start over in 2020, let’s do it and forget the things that once had hurt us. Let’s start living again.

You will finally be able to breathe now.

When you find the time, please listen to “Burn the Ships” by for KING & COUNTRY.

“How did we get here?
All castaway on a lonely shore
I can see in your eyes, dear
It’s hard to take for a moment more
We’ve got to

Burn the ships, cut the ties
Send a flare into the night
Say a prayer, turn the tide
Dry your tears and wave goodbye

Step into a new day
We can rise up from the dust and walk away
We can dance upon our heartache, yeah
So light a match, leave the past, burn the ships
And don’t you look back”
