Our pain is our cross.

Jesus had to carry His cross by himself and He was in so much pain.

Whoever wants to be My Disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me. -Mark 8:34

I don’t know why I haven’t ever thought about this before, but our pain symbolizes our own cross that we have to carry like Jesus did.

We’re all on our own journeys and we all have something we are dealing with on the inside.

Sometimes, our pain can knock us down, can make us cry so much, make us feel lost and alone, we tend to think that it’s not going to get better, and we don’t understand the reason why God is letting this happen to us.

We have to keep on going, even if it is painful. That is what Jesus did when He carried His cross. He got knocked down a lot, but do you know what? Each time He fell, He got right back up again!

At the end of it, a beautiful thing will happen and a huge blessing will be coming your way.

You know, in the end, Jesus died on the cross and in three days, He resurrected and became the King. There is hope for you too and it is going to get better. God has something so wonderful planned just for you.

He knows how much it hurts and all the pain you have felt inside. He sees you when you cry and when it seems like your entire world is turning upside down. He knows what is going to happen in your life even before it happens. He knows how much you have been through and are currently still going through. He knows our struggles.

We need to carry our pain like we carry our own cross.

This reminds me of when I was first diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It honestly broke me and I felt so lost. I told God that I was scared, but I will still trust Him. I realized that I can’t stop now like yes, it did hurt to realize that I do have a health condition that I have to live with forever, but it all comes down to what I do about it. I keep on going and accept it. I also do what is right for my body and to get the help I need for it. This entire journey was a process and it was a slow one, at that and it still is! We all have struggles and things that try to bring us down. It will bring you down if you let it, but it won’t when you look at it from a different perspective.

Whatever you’re going through might break you, but it is made to shape you into the person you will become in the future. You’re going to bloom so much and your relationship with God will be stronger than ever. Trust the process. You’re not going to be broken forever. God always has a reason why He places us in these hardships.

When you find the time, please listen to “Here I Am” by Jeremy Camp.

Here I am
Falling to my knees I’m crying out again
Jesus, take me deeper than I’ve ever been
Lord, here I am
All of me reaching to the places that I cannot see
Desperately, I need You to know me
Here I am

You are waiting for me to see
All of who You are
God, You are so patient with me
Day after day
Come living water, let me drink from Your amazing grace
Reveal my heart to be renewed
Until nothing’s left but You
Only You
Come living water, let me drink from Your amazing grace

Let the things of Earth lose their hold on me
Let Your river flow, You are breaking me free
I will lift my hands in Your presence God
Make me like You are Here I am
Everything surrendered

I am Yours
Nothing else that matters
Laying down every one of my fears
God, won’t You
God, won’t You move me
Here I am

The pain you’re feeling isn’t going to last forever. Look up Psalm 30:5 and see what it says! Joy will be coming in the morning.

  1. “Our pain is our cross.” Wow! So true, and great analogy. I’ve thought about it this way. Wow! No wonder why it’s so heavy at times to carry and bear, and that’s why He gifted us with the Holy Spirit. ❤ what a marvelous God! So true, that our pain won't last forever for when we get to see Him there will be no more pain, sorrow, He will wipe our tears. Revelation 22. God bless as He continue to heal, restore & bless you in Jesus name! ❤
