In A Matter Of Time, Life Changes

On March 8, 2020, I attended an Orchestra for one of my college classes and I wanted to just get the two page paper done before I was officially on Spring Break! While I was at this Orchestra, there were a lot of older people there and I saw this one lady put on latex gloves. I remember thinking to myself that people are just over exaggerating at this point about some virus… we just need to keep washing our hands and having good hygeine so we won’t get it.

During the week of Spring Break (March 7-13), I was looking forward to going back to campus and finishing this semester. I was also excited to be teaching at an Elementary on March 16 for one of my college classes.

Well, life happened and it happened so unexpectedly…

On March 11, 2020, I was notified that I won’t be coming to campus for my classes during the week of the 16-20 because my college just wanted everyone to stay home.

I wasn’t expecting that at all.

All of a sudden…

School Districts were closing schools and students would be having online classes while being homeschooled

Concerts were being cancelled

Theaters were even closing

You couldn’t no longer just go to a sit-down restaurant with your family because restaurants were getting shutdown too (except for curbside pickup)

What about Sundays? I don’t know if all the Churches are closed right now, but I do know that the Catholic Church stopped having Mass on Sunday’s. I couldn’t believe it and it’s still difficult for me to believe. I’m thankful that some Priests have offered to do a Live Mass without anyone there on social media.

Stores are also closed, except for grocery stores and pharmacies.

High Schools and Colleges don’t even know if there is going to be a graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 Seniors. Some even cancelled graduation. My heart does hurt for the Seniors because they went on Spring Break thinking they would be coming to school after the week ended to finish out their senior year. They would be going on their senior field trips, prom, seeing their teachers for the last time, and making so many memories.

Honestly, all of this happened so fast!

To think I was just at an Orchestra not too long ago and now, we aren’t allowed to go to places with large crowds anymore.

Life changes.

I am aware of the reason behind all of this – to flatten the curve and to help protect are loved ones because the elderly are at such a high-risk.

It amazes me that America isn’t the only one going through this – the entire world is going through it, too and we can all relate to having our plans being cancelled out of nowhere and being told to just stay inside.

We are not alone in this and we will get through this together. All of the countries who are going through this are in my heart, especially Italy and so many others who are dying ever day because of the virus. The Kylie’s Corner & More blog has so many people all over the world viewing these blog posts. I just want y’all to know I have been praying for all of you and we will all get through this together.

That is honestly the positive side to this situation we are in because we can all relate to what is going on in the world right now.

Ecclesiastes 3 goes on and basically says there is a time and a place for everything.

There is a time to weep and a time to laugh (Ecclesiastes 3:4).

A time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak (Ecclesiastes 3:7).

I love this next one: A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace (Ecclesiastes 3:8).

A time for war and a time for peace.

I believe this entire situation is meant to bring us together, even though we are worried and it’s such a difficult time for all of us, I see kindness happening everywhere.

God always has a reason for everything and the world needed this stillness that we’re so unfamiliar with. We needed a break and we didn’t even realize it. We were slowly straying away from God and God didn’t just give us this virus that is trying to take over the world; God allowed it to happen. Think about that.

It’s going to be ok because everything is in God’s hands.

You don’t understand now what I’m doing, but someday you will. -John 13:7
