In last week’s post, I talked about the struggles I have been facing during this time at home. I know I’m not the only one because we are all facing some type of struggle right now. The entire world had to cancel every day events and we all know what it feels like to have something canceled, especially when we have been looking forward to it for so long.

Today, I want to share with y’all what I have been doing to help me cope with everything and I hope one of these tips helps you, too! We must persevere no matter how hard things might be and make the best of it.

1. Reading Books

As we speak, I have a list of E-books I need to read! I’m that person who starts a book, forgets about it, and doesn’t end up finishing it! It’s a habit I definitely want to break because I do love reading whenever I can.

Here are the books I have started and I really should start with one book, finish it, and then start the next book instead of starting them all at once!

Wake Up to the Word by Joyce Meyer (I want to read this one in the mornings)

Live by Sadie Robertson (so far, it’s really good!)

Born to Shine by Ashley Lemieux

She Prays by Debbie Lindell

Have you read any of these books before?

I discovered a new program that my local library offers called, Hoopla and all you need is a library card! Hoopla has many movies, TV shows, Ebooks, and Audiobooks! I for real don’t remember what my life was like before I got a library card because I can do so much with it!

2. Yoga & Going for Walks

Moving your body every day is so important!

You can read my why for working out here! Working out helps me so much mentally and helps with stress, too.

The last time I have seen my chiropractor for adjustments and acupuncture was on March 25, 2020. I really don’t know when I will get to go back to seeing her every week. There have been times where I have felt a little bit scared of the thought of my body bouncing back to where I started before my first adjustment and acupuncture. My body has improved so much and I have also seen some improvements with my acne from taking the supplements, which there will be an update about all of that next Wednesday!

Because of not being able to go to the chiropractor, my goal is to yoga twice a week for thirty minutes and that should somewhat help stretch my muscles. I have also discovered that yoga helps my lower back pain because my lower back does hurt at times. With that being said, Hoopla even has free workout videos – I know they have Jillian Michaels and other workout programs including yoga! Side note: I’m not sponsored by Hoopla, I just discovered their program and I think it’s cool that all of this is available to me only because of owning a library card!

3. Finding A Time to Pray

This one is so important. The world needs our prayers and we must turn back to God. God has taken everything away from us that we usually fall back on in times like this. We used to tend to depend on certain things in the world and now those things are gone. While everything is canceled, we still have God. He is here for us just waiting for us to finally talk to Him and build a close relationship with Him. Will you finally say yes to Him? He may have already tried to talk to us several times, but we weren’t able to hear Him because of focusing more on what the world offered us instead of making Him a priority and that’s why He put everything to a halt. During this time, please make time for God and talk to Him. Tell Him all your fears, your desires of your heart, your struggles, your future, your sins, etc.

How you perceive things is how you live your life. You can see this situation in a negative way and not doing anything about it at all. You might even dwell on things that got canceled in your life instead of finding a way to make things work. Or, you might think positively about this situation and you try to find a way to make things work. Yes, it is a challenge. I know.

God is showing us that we don’t need anyone but Him to depend on.

Make today count because what you’re doing today matters.

This will end soon, I promise. During this time we need to all rely on God that He will help us get through all of this.

I added a new page to this blog and I encourage all of you to check it out! For those of you who are new here, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in December of 2019. I have been documenting everything that I have been through and experienced – from discussing my symptoms before I knew what was wrong, all the way to what I am doing now to help my body. My goal is to balance my hormones naturally without taking birth control. I want to give other women with PCOS hope that birth control isn’t the only option. All of the details about My PCOS journey Pinterest board can be found here.
