We all have something we are insecure about, whether it’s something we don’t like about our appearance or what someone has said to us to make us not like something about ourselves. It’s sad that something we once loved about ourselves can turn into something you don’t like in an instant because of what someone said.
If this is you, I want you to know that you’re beautiful and even if you’re a guy reading this, there is nothing wrong with you! God made each of us just the way we are. He created every single detail you have and He even created your personality, too.
Some of you might have wished to look like someone else or wanted a certain attribute that someone else has at one point in your life.
You might have felt that no would ever love you because of your flaws, you believe that people would see right through your flaws.
You might have felt like you had to apologize for being yourself or that you had to explain the reason behind your flaws.
You might have had to apologize for your personality so many times.
You might have hated yourself and said hurtful words to yourself because of your flaws.
You might have had anxiety, too.
You wished you could be perfect like the people you see on social media.
You want to fit-in with everyone else and you slowly lose yourself because of being someone you’re not.
“Flaws” does not mean that there is something wrong with you; your flaws are what makes you, you. There is no one, absolutely no one who is just like you in the world!

That is why we need to learn how to embrace our flaws.
I’m aware of the standards that society has for women and the pressure that society puts on us. It’s like that for men, too. Society perceives men as being the strong, brave, and emotionless one. If men cry or even shows emotions, they are perceived as weak, which isn’t even true because men do have feelings just like us and they shouldn’t be ashamed of crying. We are human and we have emotions. We should freely express them instead of worrying about what someone might think. To be honest, their opinion does not matter and it is also none of your business as to what someone is thinking about you because that is out of your control. You are uncapable of controlling someone’s thoughts and actions. Focus on you and how you feel about yourself, that is truly what matters the most!
I remember when I would constantly cover my face with makeup and I would never leave the house without a full face of makeup on. Why? One word – acne. Even when I was in high school, I would put on makeup every single day.
I had no clue as to why my face was just never clear and my acne got worse when I first entered college. I honestly had no idea that my hormones was the culprit of it, I knew it was probably only stress because college is so stressful and assignments are constantly getting thrown at you, if you are a college student, you know what I’m talking about!
I also didn’t know that my acne was the cause of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which I have a few theories as to why I have it, but I know I will never know exactly what caused it.
To be honest, I have always been insecure with having acne all over my face and I have it on other places of my body – let’s face it, my body is so sensitive!
Acne can do a lot of damage to your mental health and it’s crazy how something so little has potential to bring you down.
With acne, you might feel like you’re beautiful.
You might even wish that you had clear skin like those girls who have the most perfect skin ever.
You just don’t understand as to why your face has to be like this.
Acne can also be painful, especially the cystic and hormonal acne.
If you have acne and you are reading this, I want to tell you that there is nothing wrong with you. Having acne isn’t your fault and please don’t ever believe that it is your fault. I know it might seem like you don’t feel beautiful because of the acne all over your face, but you are still beautiful. You’re so beatiful in God’s eyes. It’s going to get better and please tell yourself that. Start believing that it is going to get better and I do believe that I will.
I’m to the point now where I don’t feel insecure about having acne on my face anymore because I know it’s not my fault and it’s out of my control. It’s hormones that causes it and I feel content now because I know the reason as to what causes my acne and why it’s so difficult to make it all go away.
I realized that I don’t have to explain to people as to why my face is the way it is. I don’t have to explain anything because I know the reason behind why my body does certain things and other people might not know why, which that is ok.
I pray you finally feel the same way about your own insecurities instead of constantly trying to find a way to fit-in with people and feeling so horrible about yourself. Always, always speak kind words to yourself no matter what. I pray you finally realize that there is not one thing that is wrong with you. I pray that you realize that God loves you no matter what you look like or what clothes/materialistic items that you own. None of that matters to Him. What matters the most is your heart, what is on the inside. That is what matters the most to God. Finally, I pray you soon believe that there is not one flaw in you, you’re beautiful in God’s eyes.

I added a new page to this blog and I encourage all of you to check it out! For those of you who are new here, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in December of 2019. I have been documenting everything that I have been through and experienced – from discussing my symptoms before I knew what was wrong, all the way to what I am doing now to help my body. My goal is to balance my hormones naturally without taking birth control. I want to give other women with PCOS hope that birth control isn’t the only option. All of the details about My PCOS journey Pinterest board can be found here.
