Face it, but face it with Me

I recently discovered the most beautiful Catholic church in California called, St. Monica and this church does Livestream – I think they Livestreamed all their Masses way before the coronavirus happened because they have videos you can watch of their Mass from February! You can view them here. Anyways, I started watching their Sunday Mass online at 5:30 PM PST, which is actually 7:30 PM CST my time and it’s honestly what I needed!

I needed something different and I love how we can view Mass right now from so many different places like, it amazes me! I think other Religions are doing this too, so just search whatever religion you are and put online Livestream, so it would look like this: [Religion] Church Mass online Livestream. Then, you will be able to view the different Churches that do Livestream!

There is a point to all of this, trust me!

So, last week I watched St. Monica’s Mass last Sunday and the message behind it was about not being afraid. I so needed to hear what the Priest had to say!

He said how “Do not be afraid” doesn’t mean that it will be easy or that hardships aren’t going to happen, but God will be with us in it.

God gives us these hardships to face because God says to “face it, but face it with Me.” Face it with Him.

I love the way the Priest put this into words and it gave me so much comfort listening to what he had to say. Here is the video and his talk starts at 29:13 in the video and ends at 39:51.

God doesn’t tell us to face it on our own and how we have it figure it out all on our own; He says that we don’t have to figure it all out because He already has done it for us.

He already has every little detail of your life all figured out, even though we try to plan everything out ourselves – God’s plan is always greater than ours.

What the Priest said gave me so much peace and I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear the words he said.

I am a worrier and I know I’m not the only one!

I think about the what-ifs and the what could happens.

I know what anxiety feels like.

Everything I have been through in 2020 so far and what I’m currently going through, has made me realize that I do not need to worry so much because everything is in God’s hands. I am a true believer of there is always a reason for everything, even though it takes some time for us to see God’s reason behind it or sometimes God doesn’t want us to see the reason, so we are left with so many unanswered questions.

We are on God’s time; not on our own time – realizing that was difficult for me! I’m the type of person who plans things out and I give myself a timeframe. I give myself a goal and I accomplish whatever it is.

I have mentioned this so many times, but I was expecting to take my certification exam that I need to take in order to become a certified teacher this Summer. I waited to take it this Summer because I knew that all of my focus wouldn’t be on my classes since I wouldn’t be taking any classes. I wanted to get it out of the way so bad, especially since I have testing anxiety and I have been studying so much for it! Unfortunately, many testing centers are still closed and realizing that I might not be able to take it this Summer like I planned on doing, has been difficult for me.

I have gotten to the point where I’m like, “Okay, God, I see You and I know You have a reason behind everything, even though I am unable to understand it right now. I know there is a reason behind why You’re making me wait. I know the wait is going to be worth it because once I am able to take this test, I will pass it and all of this time I have now gives me more time to study! I know You’re with me through all of this, even through the unknown.”

It took me a long, long time to realize that and to even come to terms with it.

God is with me through everything.

He has gotten me this far in college and He has honestly led me through all of the hardships and the stress that comes with college!

I applied what the Priest said to my own life and it made me realize that God isn’t wanting me to face everything alone, He wants me to face it with Him. When we go through things with Him, that is where we find so much peace because we have Hope and that Hope helps us to overcome whatever it is. God is with us through all of it.

We tend to worry about every little thing and tend to forget that God is greater than all of our worries. We forget that God is in control. Believe it or not, most of the worries we have don’t come true!

We might even spend so much time worrying and that worrying takes over our lives. This applies to not knowing what is going to happen once August comes around. What is college going to look like? Are classes going to be moved online? Are we going to go back to campus? Will children get to go back to the classroom instead of doing online learning? What is going to happen? So. Many. Questions. But, do you know what? God is in control! Whatever happens, happens. We just need to take it day by day and breathe. Focus more on the moment you are in right now instead of focusing on what might happen in the future because, again, God is in control!

We are wasting so much time by worrying. Why do we worry so much?

Start by trusting God that He will lead you and try not to control your life. Don’t force whatever it is and instead, let it come your way. Again, whatever happens, you will know that it’s in God’s plan for you.

You don’t have face all of this alone, you’re going to face it with God by your side.
