Today is the last day of the Fix Your Eyes on Jesus: From Time of Grace devotional on the Bible App! What a way to end it! If you are just now discovering this post, you can still do this Bible Study with me – here is day 1!
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” -2 Corinthians 4: 16-18
Today’s devotional reminds me of day 3 where we talked about how there is no mirrors in church.
When you look in a mirror, you see a sinner.
When you look at Jesus dying on the cross, you see a Savior.
When you keep your focus on yourself, you will wonder if you are every good enough and you keep bringing yourself down.
When you look at Jesus, all of your fears, anxiety, sadness, depression, struggles, etc. will all fade away.
In today’s devotional, it explains how there is no quick fixes for anxiety and fear. When you fix your eyes on Jesus, you’re not going to lose yourself and having faith is the best way to get rid of anxiety.
I truly believe that because it happened to me recently.
I was focusing on everything that was going on in the world around me and it felt so overwhelming to the point I had to step away from social media, especially Facebook and I turned towards reading these devotionals every morning on the Bible App. My mental health was also at its worse. But, everything faded away once I refocused my eyes and this time, my eyes focused on Jesus instead of the world.
When you take your eyes off of Jesus and focus on every little thing that is happening in the world, you will have anxiety and fears. This world we live in is messy. This world doesn’t know Jesus and I pray that one day everyone on Earth will finally find Him. I just know He is telling us something – this pandemic just didn’t happen for nothing, there is a reason behind it.
When I refocused my eyes to be on Jesus, nothing else mattered.
I found peace in Jesus, while everything around me was as if the world was on flames.
When you focus on Jesus, you are not going to notice the flames or the storm around you.
You’re going to release everything into Jesus’ hands and not hold onto it.
Worried about your career? Put it in Jesus’ hands, give it to Him and let go.
Worried about what the future holds for you? Put it in Jesus’ hands, give it to Him and let go.
Worried about something tragic in your life? Put it in Jesus’ hands, give it to Him and let go.
Worried about where the world will be like in the future? Put it in Jesus’ hands, give it to Him and let go.
Worried about getting the coronavirus or your family getting it? Put it in Jesus’ hands, give it to Him and let go.
Whatever you are worried about, put it in Jesus’ hands, give it to Him and let go.
When you don’t let these things go and focus on what is happening in the world, you are going to lose yourself in it.
But, when you focus on Jesus, you will be changed and you will finally be at peace.
You’re not going to let anyone steal that peace from you or take away the joy you have from keeping your eyes on Jesus.
Remember to breathe. Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Everything is going to be okay because you know what?
You put everything in Jesus’ hands and you’re no longer going to focus on the world; you will focus on Jesus – His love and peace are indescribable.
Jesus doesn’t want you to carry all of this baggage, let it go by giving it to Him. You were never meant to do this alone and you’re not alone. Jesus loves you.

That’s a wrap for our first Bible Study/devotional!!
I honestly loved writing these every day and also loved this devotional! What did you think about it?
I pray that this helped you to focus on Jesus instead of everything that is going on in the world. I know how overwhelming it can be. But with Jesus, all of that fades away when we focus our eyes on Him.
I pray this helped you get closer to Jesus. Maybe you will start reading these plans on the Bible App because of this devotional and I pray that you do because the Bible App has so many plans that you can read daily!
If y’all want to do this again with me, we can do a different Bible Study in August and the survey to vote on which one we will do will be up on August 1, 2020, in the Appreciation Post for July!
Lastly, what are your takeaways from this experience? Please let me know in the comment section because I want to know what you think!

I started a devotional last night on identity…sorry I’m always in your notifications🙈

Amen! What I needed to read right now. I’ve recently realized I’ve been taking my eyes off the Lord and placing it on the world and what’s going on and that increased fear and anxiousness. That didn’t serve me no good. At. All.
I started praying and picked up the Sword of the Spirit and sliced those thoughts and spirits down. But you know it’s a constant battle. But when I let it go I feel God’s peace and His comfort always. I feel light. Blessed and fruitful lesson. Blessings and grace. ❤
