Do you dread learning something new or going through something you have never experienced before?
Does the thought of starting over scare you?
Do you tend to compare someone’s day 100 to your day 1?
A new beginning doesn’t mean you have to leave everything you learned behind.
I see a new beginning as taking a chance and just go with it.
A new beginning is meant to make us feel uncomfortable and that feeling is only temporary.
It’s normal to feel this way because you are in a situation you haven’t experienced before and it’s all new to you.
That is what it’s like stepping away from your so-called “comfort zone.”
Instead of dreading a new beginning that is happening in your life, think of it as God molding you into the person He has created you, you are slowly becoming that person He had planned on you being. New beginnings are what helps us grow into becoming the person we have always meant to be.
A new beginning means trying something new for the first and even if you mess up, you’re still learning something and you will take what you learned and apply it when you have another shot at whatever you’re learning.

New beginnings are simply a fresh start to start over and each one is a new opportunity to try something new.
The way I see it is that you’re slowly getting to where you want to be as each day passes. Your day 1 is completely different from someone’s day 100 because they have been doing this way before you and you’re just now starting your journey.
Don’t compare anyone else’s journey to your own because you should only compare yourself to who you were yesterday and see the little improvements in yourself.
Growth takes time!
I know this because I know exactly what type of teacher I want to become and I’m not there yet, but with every new experience of being in the classroom with children, I will slowly get there.
If you don’t do this already and you’re going through a new beginning as we speak, I encourage you to have a journal/notebook that you write in daily about what you learned, how you felt, and what happened during your day. This is what I have been doing for student teaching because I do want to look back on 2020 in 5 years and remember these experiences that have molded me into the teacher I am.
I also end my daily reflection with something about God. For instance, I put “God, please give me strength to push through this semester.”
I love reflecting on things that happened in my life and it’s a good idea to document the situations that 2020 has put us through because I bet we all haven’t experienced a pandemic before until now!
If you’re going through a new beginning right now, I know that God is with you during every single step you take, no matter how big or small it is. He is there guiding and molding you into the person you were always meant to be.
“The start of something new brings the hope of something great. Anything is possible!” -Unknown

When you find the time, please listen to “Brand New” by Matthew West.
“When it just doesn’t feel like the old you is gone
The shame keeps telling your heart that you should be further along
You can fix your eyes now on the truth you know
That you are held by the hands of a savior that won’t let go
He’s making you new
He’s making you new
He’s healing your heart right where you are
If only you knew
He’s lifting your shame
He’s changing your name
And when you look back
The only thing that you’ll see is His grace
Has been making you brand new
He is making you brand new
Anyone in Christ is now a new creation
Every day you’re closer to the you He’s making
So take one last look back and see your past erasing
You’re not who you were, that’s over and done
So lift up your eyes to the one
Who’s making you new”

For those of you who are new here, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in December of 2019. I have been documenting everything that I have been through and experienced – from discussing my symptoms before I knew what was wrong, all the way to what I am doing now to help my body. My goal is to balance my hormones naturally without taking birth control. I want to give other women with PCOS hope that birth control isn’t the only option. All of the details about My PCOS journey Pinterest board can be found here.
