If you are new here, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) on December 2, 2019. I have been documenting my journey ever since and it’s about what I’m doing to help my body naturally without going on birth control.

It’s has been a little over a year now and I still don’t know what I’m doing… What should I eat to help my body? What should I not eat that isn’t the best for my hormones? How do I get rid of my acne? Are the vitamins helping my body? How do I stay away from eating too much sugar? How can I help my mental health? What is the best way for me to exercise? What do I need to do?? So many questions that I still have!

During the beginning of this journey, I explained that my DHEAS (a hormone) was way too high and I have gotten it retested twice to confirm that I do have PCOS, which I still don’t know why it was so high or what made it to be high. On July 30, 2019, my DHEAS level was at a 567 and the normal range is anything from 18 to 391 mcg/dL. From there on, it has slowly went down each time I have gotten my DHEAS tested and now, on November 9, 2020, it has gone down to 493! The last time I had gotten it tested, it was on November 8, 2019 and it was 501, so it decreased some!

I also got my A1C and insulin tested, which my A1C was good and wasn’t high at all, but my insulin was low and I still don’t know if that’s good or bad. I’m wondering if the inositol made it so low because it’s supposed to help people who are insulin resistant, which means they have too much insulin to start with. I don’t know if inositol impacted my insulin because this was the first time I have gotten blood work done for insulin.

At times, it feels like I’m going round and round in a circle throughout this journey of getting my body the help it needs.

With that being said, I will be going to a dermatologist soon for my acne… I think it’s at its worse that it has ever been right now and no matter what I do, it just won’t clear up. A blog post will be coming soon about how I feel about acne on my face because that needs to be its own blog post and I have something in mind for that blog post!

This journey has basically been trial and error. If something doesn’t work well with my body, I find something else to try. That’s honestly what taking care of your health is like that and no matter what you do, you should never give up.

It’s ok that you don’t know what you’re doing right now and that you feel stuck. You just have to start somewhere and if it gets too much for you, you can step back and try again, but never give up.

I am so excited to recommend products that I love so much to the Kylie’s Corner & More family! The only products I have so far is the Hope necklace and natural makeup products. I want to point out that I will receive a small commission if you order anything from Salted Avenue or 100% Pure when you shop through my links. I want to always be transparent and honest to you guys. You will be supporting me when you purchase something through the link below. I truly appreciate you for supporting me and even if you don’t purchase anything, I still appreciate you so much. This blog wouldn’t be the same without you here!

For those of you who are new here, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in December of 2019. I have been documenting everything that I have been through and experienced – from discussing my symptoms before I knew what was wrong, all the way to what I am doing now to help my body. My goal is to balance my hormones naturally without taking birth control. I want to give other women with PCOS hope that birth control isn’t the only option. 1. One day at a time!

I’ve been good. Obviously, I decided to keep the blog. So far so good. It still takes up time but I feel like it’s more productive than usual. I’m learning when it starts wearing me out to just go away.
