This is going to be such an honest/vulnerable post, I can see it already!

Honestly, Marquise from A Gurus writing, inspired me to write about this topic, which that collaboration post we did together on my blog went up this past Sunday, so if you haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet, you can read it here!

Anyways, when Marquise and I were coming up with the topics we should write about for our collaborative blog posts, he asked me if I had been able to monetize my site from my writing skills. For those who don’t know, monetize means anyone that owns a website can place ads on it and when people view their site, the blogger may possibly make a little bit of money from those ads. There are many ways on how bloggers can monetize their site and placing ads on it is only one of them!

The reason why I’m writing about this topic is because I’m curious to see what y’all think about me placing an ad in my blog posts and please be honest!

I have tried monetizing this blog before by trying out WordAds by WordPress – it’s basically a WordPress Ad. I only lasted for a day or even less because I didn’t like how the ad took away the look of the Kylie’s Corner & More blog – maybe that’s just me!?

There was also an ounce of guilt that I felt when I placed ONLY one ad on this blog and by the way, I didn’t make anything off of that ad because I deleted it right away when I felt guilty!

I felt guilty because I know some say that bloggers who write and praise God on their blog posts should NOT make money off of their blog. I do see their point in that, but what if God so happened to bless these people who are determined to lead others to Him by giving them their blogs? What if writing about God and inspiring people is their passion? There are others who say, “well if it is something you’re really good at and it is your passion, then you should make money from it!”

I see both sides when it comes to monetizing. However, I’m not saying that I’m going to place an ad in my blog posts – I want to see what y’all think about it!

Y’all, sometimes blogging can be a lot of work and there are so many things that goes into creating bog posts, especially creating the graphics! I do have many talented bloggers who read my posts and I know they get it. Even though blogging can be a lot, I do love putting time into each blog post that I write for the Kylie’s Corner & More family and I enjoy creating the graphic that matches the topic of each blog post. I’m thankful God gave me this amazing platform to share His Word and how He has touched my life with people all around the world. I do all of this for Him and knowing that I may have touched someone else’s life when they read one of my blog posts is what motivates me to keep on blogging, and I’m thankful for you guys.

With that being said, please let me know your thoughts about monetizing by commenting below on this blog post – I really want to know what you think!

Did you notice that I actually posted on this past Sunday?? In case you missed it, I collaborated with A Gurus Writing and we wrote a little something on each of our blogs! Click on the pictures below this and it will take you to it. Both of the posts are about our worth and I hope you guys find something in it that inspires you!

      1. I will, I like trying new things as well, and the funny thing is recently I’ve been praying to God that I can start making money off of my writing and to have multiple streams of income soon.

      2. No problem, yes He did know that I needed a sign that He hears me when I pray. I was beginning to think that He didn’t. Your response to me and your blog post is confirmation that He hears me and is working things out even when it doesnt seem like He is. I’m reluctant to post some blog posts too sometimes, but that’s what we do. We’re writers, we bleed on the page so we have no secrets from our readers.

      3. Exactly, I’m not ashamed, because I know my story will help others. It’s what I want my stories to do. After all, my life’s purpose is to inspire and motivate through my calling which is writing.

      4. It’s great that inspiring is your goal when you write. What can I say, I just love reading and writing lol! I’m so thankful for the writing talent and ability that God gave to me!

  2. I don’t like the WordPress ads. They cheapened the look of my site, yet I made less than one dollar after a couple months (not even exaggerating), so it was sooo not worth it just in my experience! I see nothing wrong with sponsored posts and affiliate links, though, just as long as you are up front about it in the post. 🙂

  3. Really enjoyed your post. We went through several emotions. One of which was being vex due to the fact that you let the idea of other peoples thoughts stop you from monetizing. Then we realized that we have been there before too. It takes time before we realize that we can do more of Gods work if we get paid from our passions. Think about it, how can priests survive without the tithes from the congregation?
Anyway, keep up the God work!

    1. Thank you for reading it!☺️ I have tried other ways to help my blog like, my subscribers can purchase the Kylie’s Corner book on my blog – it was written by me and I recently launched Live Your Faith, which I created designs and put them on products like t-shirts and mugs! I was just curious about what people thought about monetizing and I’m thinking about using wordads for a year and see if it is worth it because I only used it for barely a day! That’s a great point you made and thank you for the encouragement! ✨

  4. You shouldn’t feel guilty the least bit Kylie. Your story was meant to be shared. Your struggles overcome and inner abilitites were made to add value to the world, and to have that value returned…ahundredfold
